Associate Professor, Organizational Behavior Dr. Leslie Sekerka is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at Menlo College in Atherton, CA. She holds a dual appointment in their Management and Psychology Departments while also serving as the Director of the Ethics in Action Research and Education Center. Dr. Sekerka is also an Academic Partner at Santa Clara University's Markkula Center for Applied Ethics. Her research focuses on the promotion of strengths in ongoing human development, to help us better understand and support organizational and individual change, ethical decision-making, and moral courage in the workplace. Her research is designed to create a more proactive approach to ethics, which evolved as a result of working with the military and Department of Defense personnel at the Graduate School of Business & Public Policy and the Center for Executive Education at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. Dr. Sekerka's teaching repertoire includes organizational behavior, organizational change and development, communications for managers, applied ethics, and positive psychology. She delivers customized workshops, seminars, and personal coaching sessions to help foster ethical action in professional practice. Receiving a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, her scholarship appears in a variety of academic journals and books including the Business Horizons, Journal of Business Ethics, Organizational Management Journal, International Journal of Training & Development, Business Ethics: A European Review, International Journal of Sustainable Strategic Management, Training & Management Development Methods, Public Integrity, Positive Organizational Scholarship, Organization Development, Research Companion to Emotion in Organizations, and the Journal of Continuing Education in the Health Professions.
Director, Ethics in Action Research and Education CenterDr. Leslie Sekerka is the Director of the Center and an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at Menlo College in Atherton, CA. The purpose of the Center is to conduct applied ethics research, promote undergraduate awareness of ethical issues, and to prepare students for graduate study as they examine ethical challenges in today's business environment. The research and educational programs provided by the Center are designed to explore and cultivate personal strengths and virtues in human development. In so doing, we support organizational and individual ethical action, ethical decision-making and professional moral courage in the workplace.
