Dr. Olukoya Ogen



Brief Biodata

Olukoya Ogen, formerly of the Department of History, Obafemi Awolowo University, is an Associate Professor of Economic History and current Head, Department of History and International Studies, Osun State University. He specializes in the Social and Economic History of Nigeria as well as International Economic Relations. He holds a PhD in History from the University of Lagos, and a Certificate in Trade, Growth and Poverty from the World Bank Institute, Washington D.C. He was a Leventis Scholar at SOAS, University of London in 2008 and a British Academy Visiting Fellow at the University of Birmingham in 2009. He also won the CWAS Visiting Fellowship to the University of Birmingham in 2010. A recipient of several travel fellowships and grants, Dr. Ogen is the current Executive Editor of African Nebula, a Reviewer for African Studies Review, and has just joined the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Historical Society of Nigeria. A highly prolific scholar, his works have appeared in leading local and international publishing outlets.
